Der leicht metallische Geschmack, das Ziehen in der Bauchhöhle, vermischt sich mit der Angst und Furcht Deiner Gedanken.

Love Is A Dog
genau das getan, im übertragenen Sinn, sie vertonen die Qualen der Ungewißheit, lassen eine wachsende Sehnsucht in Pracht und Größe mit strahlendem Klang auferstehen.

Ihr fünftes Album seit ihrer Gründung 2005 und in unseren Gefilden/hierzulande (wie kann man das denn sinnvoll ausdrücken ohne das es altbacken und abgedroschen klingt?) noch fast gänzlich unbekannt. Manchmal ist Australien bedauernswerterweise sehr weit weg – und die Musik dorther schafft aus mir unerfindlichen Gründen oft den Weg hierher nicht.

Emily Lubitz, Jesse Lubitz und Alex Burkoy aus Melbourne bilden die Band, die im Studio von  Daniel Farrugia (Angus & Julia Stone) am Schlagzeug und  Jules Pascoe (Bass) unterstützt wird.

Hochkarätige Folksongs zugespitzt in fabulös-mystischem Songkraftambiente, gipfeln ein ums andere Mal in fast schmerzhaft schönem Romantikflair.
Emotional, voll fulminanter Harmonien, im Vordergrund stehend und beherrschend Emilys Stimme, die mal im Falsetto, mal intim ins Herz stechend, stets überaus nah und präsent ist.

Cities Of Gold
ist ein Ohrwurm, einer, der einfach nicht verschwinden will. Optimistisch, positiv, gute Stimmung verbreitend.

Der Titeltrack kommt gediegener, mit mehr Geduld, brennt sich dann aber unbarmherzig ins Gehör.

Durchgehend haben wir sehnsuchtsvoll tönende Violinen, die einmal mehr klagen und im Tempo variieren, die den Songs ein spezielles Timbre verschaffen und
Love Is A Dog
zu einem wunderbaren Album machen.

Textzeilen wie „Never Trust A Man In White Shoes“ haben vieles, was dieses Album vermittelt: Melancholie und Bedauern, aber auch ein voll Ironie erhobener Zeigefinger, der Achtsamkeit gemahnt.
Wohltemperierte Gefühle, gerührt, nicht geschüttelt

Diese Veröffentlichung ist ein Aufruf an ihre Hörer, Mut zu haben und Taten sprechen zu lassen. Und die Gänsehaut zu genießen.

Und niemand soll sagen, er habe es nicht besser gewußt.

The slightly metallic taste, pulling in the abdominal cavity, mixes with the fear and anxiety of your thoughts.

Love Is A Dog
done just that, figuratively, they add sound to the torments of uncertainty, have a growing desire in grandeur rise with a bright sound.

Their fifth album since it was founded in 2005 and in our region / this country (how can you then print sense without it sounds old-fashioned?) still almost unknown. Sometimes Australia is regrettably very far away – and the music from there hasn’t got any chance to make it big here.

Emily Lubitz, Jesse Lubitz and Alex Burkoy from Melbourne form the band, which is supported in the studio of Daniel Farrugia (Angus & Julia Stone) on drums and Jules Pascoe (bass).

High-profile Folksongs pointedly in fabulously-mystical song force ambience, culminating again and again in almost painfully beautiful romantic flair.
Emotional, fully fulminant harmonies in the foreground standing and dominating Emilys voice that is in falsetto, sometimes intimate piercing into the heart, always very close and present times.

Cities Of Gold
is a catchy, one of their songs that simply will not go away. Optimistic, positive, good mood spreading.

The title track is tasteful, with more patience,  burns itself but relentlessly into the ear.

Throughout we longingly sounding violins who complain once more and vary the tempo that give the songs a special timbre and

make a wonderful album.

Lines like „Never Trust A Man In White Shoes“ have much of what gives this album reminds melancholy and regret, but also a perfect irony finger-wagging, mindfulness.
Warm and intense feelings: Stirred, not shaken

This publication is a call to its listeners, to have courage and to let actions speak.
And the goosebumps to stay and enjoy.

And no one should say that he had not known better.
